Founded in 1876, Hutchinson County is most well known for it's oil history but there were some very significant historic events before the 1920's. Clovis man hunted near the tributaries to the Canadian River, the Antelope Creek phase of 1000 years ago left their marks at Alibates and the battles of Adobe Walls became ingrained in the minds of Americans when we think of the American west.
