Borger's Fire Department is very adequate
newspaper clipping, undated
Borger is well-equipped with fire-fighting apparatus to cope with the largest conflagration which might break out, local firemen believe. They are convinced that the two trucks and their attachments are sufficient for a town the size of Borger.
Department equipment includes two 120-horsepower Southern trucks each containing a 700-gallon-per-minute pressure pump a 120-gallon capacity chemical tank, and two 3-gallon tanks. Each truck also contains 1400 feet of hose and other accessories.
W. G. Brackeen is fire marshal for the City of Borger. J. W. Crabtree is fire chief, and other regular firemen include Jelly Stockton and L. L. Robinson. The volunteer department includes about twenty local men.
