Frank Phillips College

Beginning in 1946, petitions were drawn up and passed around to create a Junior College district. The right to establish a Junior College was given on April 8, 1946. Frank Phillips College opened for the students on September 6, 1948. It was named for Frank Phillips, founder of Phillips Petroleum Company. It shared the High School Building with the public schools until September of 1956, when its present campus was opened. Other buildings were added in the late 50s and early 60s. The new library was completed in 1966.
